Author Frank Amoroso Tours Mid-Atlantic Area to Introduce New “Wopper” Series ” FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Janice Jay Young June 5, 2017 Resonant PR 631-284-3737 jartandi@yahoo.comDuring an author tour from June 17-20, Frank Amoroso will present a new three-volume series of historical novels called “Wopper – How Babe Ruth Lost His Father and Won the 1918 World Series Against the Cubs” to audiences in the Mid-Atlantic area. Appearances have been scheduled at museums in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Elizabeth City, North Carolina. In the series, Mr. Amoroso weaves previously undisclosed facts with myth into a story of imagination and passion that captures the essence of the Great Bambino. The first volume, “Pigtown,” was released earlier this year. It is about how George Herman Ruth grew up amid tragedy and trouble in Baltimore to become the most beloved baseball player to ever wear a major league uniform. In the second volume, “The Show,” Ruth embarks on his baseball career, acquiring the nickname, “Babe,” and dazzling the baseball world with his talent. He is thrust into a pennant race playing for the Boston Red Sox, while the hysteria of war spreads. The Mid-Atlantic Book Tour kicks off with the book launch of “The Show,” on June 17, 1 PM, at an appropriate venue—the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, 216 Emory Street, Baltimore. Mr. Amoroso’s talk is entitled “Babe Ruth – An American Icon.” He will discuss Babe Ruth’s early years leading to success with the Red Sox and the 1918 World Series. On Monday, June 19, the German-American Heritage Museum of the USA will host a book talk at 6 PM, followed by a reception with light refreshments. Mr. Amoroso will focus on the Babe’s German-American heritage providing anecdotes about his relationships with other prominent German American players like Lou Gehrig and Honus Wagner. He will also discuss the internment of German-Americans and German aliens by the United States government during WWI and its impact of Babe and his friends.
